Unlike other services that rely heavily on paid banner ads or pop-ups that are seen by viewers of your web site, we do not. XRoad is funded entirely by it's members, and the services they purchase. Your web site viewers will not be subject to any kind of unwanted advertising, originating from our site.
But beware! If you redirect your domain to another company, we will not actually remove any of their advertisements.
Domain Forwarding or Redirect services are available only for domains that are registered or transferred through XRoad.
Now when you register your XRoad domain name (www.yourname.com) and purchase hosting or have the domain redirected, your email will be redirected automatically as well.
How? It's easy! If you register yourname.com, then all mail directed at @yourname.com will be sent to the address you provide when you register your domain. For example, iwanttobeabetterwebmaster@yourname.com and iliketosurf@yourname.com will both be redirected to your email address, that you can change at any time. (changes may take up to 1 hour to proccess). XRoad is your catch all email.
E-mail redirection is only available with
1) domain name registration and redirection or
2) domain name registration and web hosting
and there's no additional fee.

Now you can transfer your existing domain name and have it redirected, with free e-mail redirection as well. Your domain can be transferred for only one year at a time at a cost of $15 US, but we will add that year to any time you have remaining with the other company. (redirection package not included in transfer price)
An example: you own www.yourdomain.com, and it expires in two years. If you transfer your domain to XRoad for a year, it will cost you $15 US, and your domain will expire in three years.
Other notes: (Please read!)
Domain must be in good standing ie. not expired, not in arrears and paid up. The current registrar will terminate a domain transfer if it is in arrears in any way.
for best results, domain transfer must occur 2 months before domain expires
domain must be transferred 2 months (60 days) AFTER being registered with the other company, or you will be required to wait until 2 months has passed.
you MUST be able to receive e-mail at the address listed in the Administrative Contact section of the domain. Do a WHOIS lookup to confirm. This is for security reasons, and no, there is no way we can change it, or redirect it somehow. Only the domain owner can change it.
you WILL receive an e-mail directed to the e-mail address in the admin section of the domain. Read this e-mail carefully, and follow its instructions. It will contain a temporary link and password for you to use.
Domains being transferred without complete information will be rejected. Fill in all the fields, so they at least match the current domain. You can always change it later, and we make it easy to do.
If the current registrar asks for our primary and secondary nameservers, here they are: ns1.xroad.com and ns2.xroad.com.
Make sure you can receive e-mail at the address in the admin section Domain Transfers can take as long as 10 days.
